Terms of Service
Last updated July 10, 2026
The short version
labor.dog is invite-only software for verified union locals. Use it lawfully to run your local, keep your login secure, and you own your data — we never sell it. These terms are the full agreement; the summary is just for orientation.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of labor.dog (the "Service"), a union management platform operated by labor.dog. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.
Eligibility
The Service is offered to local labor unions by invitation, with a focus on fire and police locals. By registering, you represent that you are an authorized representative of a union local and have the authority to bind that local to these Terms. We may verify your local's identity and affiliation at any time.
Accounts and Security
You must provide accurate, complete information when creating an account and keep it current. You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@labor.dog if you suspect unauthorized access.
Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes related to the management and operations of your union local. You may not:
- Violate any applicable law, regulation, or the rights of others;
- Impersonate another union local, member, or representative;
- Upload or transmit harmful, threatening, harassing, or unlawful content;
- Attempt to access, probe, or disrupt accounts, systems, or data you are not authorized to use;
- Reverse engineer, resell, or sublicense the Service without our written consent.
Your Content and Data
You retain ownership of all data, documents, and content you submit to the Service ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited license to host, process, and display Your Content solely to operate and provide the Service to your local. Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. We do not sell Your Content and will not share it except as described in that policy.
AI Features
The Service includes AI-assisted tools that analyze documents you upload — such as contracts and policies — to surface information, draft language, and answer questions. AI output may contain errors or omissions and is provided for assistance only. It is not legal advice and should be reviewed by a qualified person before you rely on it for grievances, negotiations, or any binding decision.
SMS / Text Messaging Program
Union locals using the Service may send text messages (SMS) to their members. The following terms apply to all text messages sent through the Service:
- Program description: Members of a union local receive recurring text messages from their local, including alerts, announcements, news, voting and event information, reminders, and other membership communications.
- Consent: Members consent to receive text messages by providing their mobile number to their union local through membership applications, contact-information forms, or directly to a union representative. Consent is not a condition of membership or of any purchase.
- Message frequency: Message frequency varies depending on the local's communications.
- Cost: Message and data rates may apply. These charges are billed by the recipient's mobile carrier and are the recipient's responsibility.
- Opt-out: Recipients can cancel at any time by replying STOP to any message. After replying STOP, no further messages will be sent unless the recipient re-subscribes by replying START.
- Help: Recipients can reply HELP to any message for assistance, or contact support@labor.dog.
- Carriers: Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery is subject to carrier availability. Supported carriers may change without notice.
- Privacy: No mobile information or opt-in data is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Subscriptions and Billing
Paid features of the Service are billed on a subscription basis. You agree to pay all fees associated with your selected plan. Subscription terms, pricing, renewal, and cancellation policies are presented at the time of purchase and may be managed through the Service's billing settings.
Service Availability
We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. We may perform maintenance, updates, and modifications to the Service as needed, and will make reasonable efforts to minimize disruption.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or if your union local's affiliation cannot be verified. You may cancel your account at any time through the Service's billing settings. On termination, you may request an export of Your Content as described in our Privacy Policy.
Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, labor.dog shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising from your use of the Service.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
